Golf News Network launched as an expansion of The 19th Hole Golf Show in 2004. The success of the original Internet based golf-talk show spurred the Golf News Network site and it has now evolved to this form. GNN serves its listeners and readers with provocative commentary, thought-provoking interviews, and the latest news from the golfing world. Our site seeks to provide an interactive forum through which golf enthusiasts can talk about the professional tours, improve the health of their own game, and get information from a variety of sources quickly and effectively.

The newest version of GNN brings users some new opportunities to explore the world of golf. We have expanded our programming in 2007 to two weekly shows that are available via podcast services, such as iTunes, and on GNN. Users will still find the same great original commentary from Ryan Ballengee, but we have expanded the methods of expression (such as the new GNN Blog) and the number of voices heard on GNN (new programming and guest commentaries). In July 2007, GNN nearly toppled the 50,000 listener mark for the first time. For the year, over 120,000 have tuned into GNN programming.

Ryan Ballengee is the host of The 19th Hole Golf Show and a syndicated Internet golf columnist. Having graduated from the University of Maryland in 2004 and 2006, Ballengee brings the perspective of the younger golf fan to the microphone and his columns. Over the nearly five years he has been broadcasting and writing, Ballengee has developed a reputation for a unique interviewing style that asks both the difficult and fun questions. Always seeking out a new way to talk about golf, Ryan has been known to seek out novel guests and introduce them to the golfing world.

The 19th Hole Golf Show and LPGA on GNN can be heard additionally via podcast at a link on our front page. The 19th Hole can also be heard on terrestrial radio in Spain over the Spectrum FM radio network.

Ryan's weekly column of the same name appears on a host of websites other than GNN.

Ryan is available as a golf analyst for talk shows on radio and television. He has previously appeared as a regular guess on FOX Sports Radio - Merced, CA. He can be reached @ ryan@thegolfnewsnet.com.
